Summary

Aklill which means “Crown” in the Ethiopian language Amharic is a company that makes accessories that fuse elegance and Ethiopian heritage into the design and stories of its products. Based in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa they have started producing beautifully designed rugs, blankets and cushions that have a touch of Ethiopian culture in them.

Commissioned by branding agency Brook&Co, the challenge was to create a logo and full brand identity system which would be used for everyday communication bearers. The mission of Aklill was to diversify from sock production under their brand name Sheba Socks to home décor production under the name Aklill. They wanted the logo not to be an actual crown and exude Ethiopian culture.
